People ...
  

Meet Cecil Monk, Front of House Manager who joined the staff in the Restaurant in October last year. He is like a breath of fresh air, his innovative ideas and upbeat attitude are a delight.
  
He has worked and studied in the States and managed top restaurants in Cape Town.
   
Cecil’s passion is Food and Wine and the pairing thereof and he says Buitenverwachting is like a dream come true for him. A BSc he is presently studying the Cape Sommelier course.
    
He lives on the farm with his wife and baby and says “I can’t think of anything better than living on Hussey’s Vlei”.

Buitenverwachting’s award winning vineyards have produced another exceptional wine. James Molesworth, Senior Editor of Wine Spectator has awarded Buitenverwachting’s Chardonnay 2010 - 92 points.

Constantia Fresh ...
     
The third annual Constantia Fresh festival once again explores the distinctiveness and freshness of the ‘wild white’ grape, Sauvignon Blanc, while examining the red Blends of Constantia and a fine dining event at the Greenhouse Restaurant, Cellars Hohenort.

   

Friday 24 February
Jörg Pfützner of Fine Wine Events will host a fine wine tasting focusing on Constantia's finest Reds in the company of some excellent and sought after international versions. The tasting will affirm the notion that the wines of Constantia can hold their own amongst the finest in the world. R1500 per person.
    
Friday 24 February
The Greenhouse Restaurant, Cellars-Hohenort Hotel, Friday evening is the festival’s Fine Dining Event. Fine Wine Events will put forward some of the finest white, red and sweet wines Constantia and Bordeaux have to offer. Guests will be welcomed with a selection of Constantia’s Méthod Cap Classique. R1500 per person
  
Saturday 25 February

Saturday’s big event will have wine enthusiasts wandering about the lawns of Buitenverwachting sampling South Africa's finest Sauvignon Blancs paired with canapés made by South Africa's best chefs.
An elegantly constructed braai will take place in the early evening where Constantia’s red wines will be served. Tickets to this tasting are on sale at R400 per person.
